Player Rules

1) The most important rule is to listen and follow any instructions of the Staff of the Pandora shard or Crimson Twilight.

If a GM or Admin, or any other staff member is in the viewable area you MUST stop all actions and pay attention. If you are fighting a really tough monster, run away from it but stay in the area, the GM will delete the monster (or ressurect you) if need be. If 2 players are fighting with each other it will cease immedietly or both players might get GM whacked.
This is to ensure that the GM's time is spend doing his or her job and not wasted on breaking up or waiting out a fight. Also when a GM is near, please allow him or her to do the job that is required of them, that means they speak, you read, they ask, you reply. A GM will not type if you are speaking to them so they don't miss what you say, please do the same for them.

2) This shard is not focused on the actual playing of UO per se, but is dedicated to providing an environment where people can get together and role play, an alternative to multiple people driving to a central location to play a game of Dungeons and Dragons.

We will use the rules of UO, not those of DnD but DnD is the look and feel we are going for. UO is an almost perfect playing field for role playing in general, and can provide us with wonderful entertainment that will outlast the game itself. I have been a DM in DnD for well over 15 years now and am well versed in providing an atmosphere where players can use their imagination to the fullest. I planned this mainly for my own friends and family but I will be opening it up to a few others as well depending on the server we can afford. There will be adventure a plenty for all players.

3) 1 (one) account with 2 (two) players MAX per person is allowed on this shard for good reason.

We allow trading of items from character to character, and we will even allow you to delete a character to make a new one even if just to give the newbie items to your main character but only after 15 days. You must keep any character you create for at least 15 days in order to delete them so if you wish to play them, make them right the 1st time as you only have 2 chances every 15 days to do so. We do NOT allow multiple accounts and those who attempt it will likely have both accounts deleted. We have ways of knowing. We will allow multiple accounts to each IP address IF you are on a home network with MULTIPLE players. We are a close knit group and can tell if someone is using 2 accounts, we are VERY good at judging characters so to speak.

4) READ ALL SIGNS

This is important as we mark the areas that can get you killed or things that are important to that area or even the shard. We update this site a lot but the shard gets updated 1st. We place signs, books and other things around with names or text that informs our players of things they need to know about. Such as contests, quests, dangers, PK areas and anything else we can think of. This will be a growing world for quite some time and we ask that you bear with us until we have it as perfect as we can get it. Then we will only change minor things, unless we get some wild hair and wish to add some new feature or such. In the beginning (Genesis) there will be lots of changes and many of them will require server restarts, we will inform anyone in the game about these in advance and will also try to do so during slow times.

5) DO NOT ask for items or character tweaks from the staff.

We give items as rewards on this shard and we don't reward begging. Items will be placed in areas around the map and given as prizes or quest items. Items may be normal items you get everyday, or they can be special items. In either case they also may or may not have a unique color to them. A green pizza or a purple platemail would be good examples. Gold is the main economy of the shard. While gold is fairly easy to get, it is hard to get in large quantities. GM's will buy some items that vendors or other players might not but they will not be giving you the greatest deal to be had even if their coffers are unlimited.

6) Bugs are bad... we need to know of any bugs you find

Anyone caught exploiting a bug will be banned, the 1st time without the hope of returning. We will judge each case with all the information available and make sure of guilt before banning.
This game does have bugs, and more will be found before we can fix them, it is inevitable. We will try our best to fix the worst bugs 1st.
We will list all of the bugs that have been found but not fixed in game and/or on the site for all to see. This is so ignorance will be no excuse. There will be bugs that you may find that you don't realize is a bug. These are cases where we will take into consideration your actions following the finding of this bug. For example, if you make a potion keg full of heals and it turns into a keg that gives some godlike weapon (I have seen this one on another shard) it is obviuosly a bug. If it seems to good to be true, ask a GM. If you keep it a secret and make 100 god weapons then we will see this as exploiting, but if you ask a GM before you make them just to be sure, you will be safe. Sometimes it is less obvious and we will judge it accordingly. Just be safe and ask. We will provide the means both in game and on the site to report bugs.

7) Role playing is a must on this shard.

We understand that there are times when you must speak out of game therefore if ever you speak out of game please enclose all your out of game text in (parenthasis) Making it harder to speak out of game will inspire people to speak more in game, and actually role play. We also understand that many people may have never role played in their lives, or they might have but are a bit lacking in technique. We will provide lessons in role playing as we have need of them. Watching others role play is a good way to learn as well, and we encourage you to read as much on the subject as possible. If you play DnD this will come as second nature to you, and we would ask that you help us in teaching those who ask for it as much as you can. If you would like to volenteer your teaching skills please contact us. With your help we can make this a world of intense adventure with a rich environment full of people that enjoy a game far greater then those they are used to playing. If you are speaking to a GM or Admin about the game, you may speak out of character without parenthasis, this is the only exception.

8) Macroing unattended

We will allow you to macro only in areas that are NOT well used or "hang out" spots such as Britain bank. However we only allow unattended macroing for short times such as going to the bathroom or getting a snack. If we see you macroing, we will speak to you or run a Macro Check. If you dont reply within 5 minutes you run the risk of being jailed.

9) NPC/Creature Luring

There will be no luring of creatures to ones house, boat or any other personal locations for any reasons. This includes drawing a monster to your house for training skills, luring an NPC so you may buy or sell from the comfort of your house, or any other reason.
There may be occassions where a creature gets trapped inside your house. Some creatures can open doors as well. In these cases you are to either kill, or ban that creature so that it is no longer trapped. If a GM spots a trapped creature s/he will delete said creature or move it to another location the 1st time. The 2nd time a creature is seen trapped in a house a warning will be given and the 3rd time will result in the house owner being jailed. If there is a 4th time, the house/ship/claim will be demolished.
In cases of Ships or Claims we will skip step 1. This is because a creature cannot enter a ship or claim without the assistance of the player thus the trapping is intentional.

10) 3rd party programs

We allow 3 third party programs on the Pandora shard... UOLoop, UO Auto Map and Razor. NO OTHER 3rd party programs are allowed. You can find Razor at the Run UO site, UOAM from the UOAM site and you can download UOLoop from us. We do NOT however give lessons or tutorials on how to use these programs so you will need to learn them for yourself. We run a packet scanner on the Pandora shard and we WILL know if you are using any other 3rd party programs such as injection. If we find out you are running anything other than the 3 programs listed we will warn you the 1st time and BAN you the 2nd time.

GM Rules

1) Be professional, you will be projecting an image to all players in the game and will be representing the Pandora shard

All the shards I have played on with the exception of osi (the paid version) have GM's and staff that are very immature, they put people in jail for running, talk crap to players and generally don't care. I will be running this shard and the staff with millitary efficiancy and have no problems demoting or even banning any GM that shows they can't follow the rules.

2) DO NOT CREATE

Creating monsters, animals, spawns or items are FORBIDDEN to GM's without 1st obtaining permission or instructions from the Admin. The world is huge and if a GM were to create an Ancient Wyrm, it will wander the world as far as it can reach, including getting into newbie areas, when created it is very hard to find again unless it has a spawn point, and spawners are tiny and are also hard to see. As for items, there is a balance in the world and if GM's create items at will, then that balance will be destroyed. GM's do have the power to create and this power will be regulated. The Admin may ask a GM to spawn an area, but will always give detailed instructions on monster types, spawn range and even spawn times.

2) DO NOT DELETE

GM's will not delete spawners or items in the game unless prior permission is given.

3) Counsilors defer to GM's, GM's defer to Seers and Seers defer to the Admin (me)

All GM's must give a detailed weekly report (using a book in game) to a Seer or Admin regarding activities in game. The more details and info in these reports, the better prepared the Seer will be to fix any bugs or accounts. This also goes for in game actions such as quests and such.
